Hey all,
Just taking a quick break here to drop a line. A client of mine has commissioned me to create a complete one of a kind sabbacc deck for him to use in real life....a whopping 77 seperate illustrations to be done in all within a 1&1/2 x 2&5/8th vertical slot! OMG!
Well...all but one anyways...the back deck art will be on a 3&1/2 by 2&1/2 inch vertical.
That's quite a lot of work...all due by the start of feb 2010.

That's Awesome! I was actually wanting to do/request something similar. I wanted to re-create our normal modern day deck into a Star Wars-y theme way.
Basically the deck of cards resembles a guild "The Thieves Guild" Each card represented a different class within the guild, and each number represented the rank.
Triss, my character - Was a Three of Diamonds. She was Rank Three in the Thieves and Pick pocketing class
An old 'partner' of hers was a four of Spades. Rank four in the blades/assassins class.
Each time they gained a new rank, they got a new card, one they treasured and carried with them to gain them access to certain sections and buildings controlled by the guild.
.....Anyways, Very interesting, I can't wait to see what you can do with your Sabbacc deck ^_^
Umm...well, this is an actual sabbacc deck with the proper 8 face cards like The Queen of Air and Darkness....not a standard set of playing cards for poker....though that would be a lot easier to make in my oppinion.
I will see if my client will allow me to post a few of the ones I am doing....but the entire deck will not be available.
