Hopefully this looks less earthy

Yeah, I'm liking that. The back half is looking especially well developed. The front might look better if it were a little sharper. Very nice over all.

I started at the back and am working forward. Should prob work all of one color first but hey, I am playing here. Time to experiment.

I had always thought the Naboo starfighters could've used a bit of expansion in their designs ;)

Theres actually a few more (unoficial) Naboo fighter designs floating around that are being used as box & cover art for Asrock brand of motherboards. Have you seen them? If not, I scanned in the manual cover for one of the boards I bought for a secondary rig a couple years ago.

The difference between them and your design is that theirs look like tripped up / tripped out / pimped takes on the standard Naboo N1 fighter much like street rod cars with the big blocks, air blowers and intakes and the like.

Yours on the otherhand, has alot more originality to the standard design. The front spade nose looks like a natural fit. From the spade, the rest of the fuselage looks like its a good fit. If I hadn't known it was a heavy bomber, I'd say it'd also double as a good sensor jam packed long range recon craft, like the Y-Wing Longprobe.

I dunno, have you tried making the engines bigger? or adding a secondary set that arn't quite as lone as the ones hugging the side of the fuselage? I'm just thinking with that much extra weight / bulk / mass of a payload its going to be carrying, it could use a bit more beefier engines. But hey, thats just an opinion. It'd still look just as good the way it is now ;)

The color scheme is a nice break from the bold yellow. Light grey, white, powder blue, and that amber colored canopy. For some reason it reminds me of a P-35 Mustang or a P-31 Lightning... Hey - theres a crazy idea - give it a pair of spiked tails with a connecting bar extending back from the spade, alongside the fuselage, that'd also double larger (& beefier) than standard engines. Its a crazy idea. Just sketch something on a new layer, see what it looks like ;)

I like the ideas. And thanks for the comments. I (hyped up on pain meds) have opted for the snub nose quad-laser set up. Threw some solar panels on for show. Kinda the naboo A-10. Was gonna do a turbo laser. ( it's done on a layer and not saved so I can get back to work later)
just thought it was fun.

Casca,

As I've mentioned in some other posts, naming your picture "scan002.jpg" is probably NOT going to make it anything close to unique. And it really should be as unique as possible. I've fixed it for this WIP, but keep it in mind on-going.

Interesting variation! Naboo A-10, Tradefed Tankdroid Buster!

The out-rigger solar panels remind me of the IG-2000 starship, although those retract back into the body, when not in use.

You honestly could whip up a series of Naboo fighter variants. I mean c'mon, theres almost a dozen X-Wing model variants alone from the earliest version right up to the XJ series. I think you've got an awesome creative streak going on here while yer hyped up on those pain meds. Let that imagination fly! (and worry about fine-detailing til later)
